DocuFlow updates (have them installed)

When Documizers releases an update for DocuFlow, a notification automatically appears on screen to download and install the new version. This article describes how DocuFlow administrators can set this up for DocuFlow users.

Please note!

If your organisation only uses DocuBuilder (DocuFlow's document generator), the following does not apply.

The DocuFlow programme consists of a number of components:

  • The web version of DocuFlow

  • The DocuFlow App on your PC

  • The DocuFlow tab in Word/Excel/Outlook (add-in in Word)
Note! So this is not the DocuFlow button on the Start tab!

The web version of DocuFlow is managed by Documizers. We recommend always keeping the version of the other two components the same as the web version.

Tip!

In an increasing number of organisations, end users only use parts of the online (web version) of DocuFlow. In those cases, DocuFlow is often no longer on your PC as an application at all and you obviously do not need to update it either. This is, for example, if you start DocuFlow via your browser (via https://xxxxx.platform.documizers.com/DocuFlow > xxxxx = your environment name) and/or if you use the DocuFlow button (Office 365 Add In) on the Start tab in Word/Excel or Outlook:

Enable auto update = On > if users are allowed to install it themselves

In DocuFlow, administrators can set up via Environment settings > Enable auto update to allow DocuFlow users to install updates themselves on their PCs.

If you start DocuFlow from the Windows Start menu or from the DocuFlow tab in Word/Excel/Outlook after updating the web version, the following message appears:

Clicking Download new version puts the installation file in the Downloads folder on your PC:

Double-click the installation file to start the installation:

After several times of Next and/or Yes, a screen appears that the update has been completed:

Enable auto update = Off > if users are not allowed to install anything on their PC themselves

Intended for organisations where end users are not allowed to install anything themselves on their PCs. This is for example if DocuFlow is installed:

On a Citrix environment

On a terminal server

Via Microsoft Intune

Via a company portal

By an (external) system administrator

In those cases, just uncheck Enable auto update.

Of course, in order to make use of all the new features after an update, you then have to download the installation files yourself from the Documizers download portal:

Once downloaded, your system administrator can install it on all DocuFlow users.
