After the first installation, it is possible to create and email from Business Central using many different entities.
The administrator can change these in his/her settings.

Step by step

1. Within Business Central, go to an entity. For example ‘Sales Offers’ and select a Sales Offer.

2. Select ‘Actions’ → ‘DocuBuilder’ → [Quote]

3. Select the desired template

Because we started from Sales Quotes (for this example), DocuBuilder shows Sales Quotes in the standard configuration.
Select a ‘Lay-out’, then click [OK]

Later, choose Lay-out 2 and Lay-out 3, to choose the desired corporate identity.

4. Settings for document generation

The information will be retrieved from Business Central automatically.

After a corporate identity is selected, the previous template screen will not be shown anymore and information will be given to Business Central (with no wait time).

1. Shows the dedicated template
2. Shows information retrieved from Business Central
3. Has the document to be sent as PDF as attachment as well? yes/no
4. [Generate]

5. Settings for sending emails

In case you choose to add the document as PDF in the attachment.

In a later stage, it is possible to hide certain fields per document profile (sales offers / invoices / etc.).

Before the email will be sent, many parts are configurable. Initially, the standard configuration settings are used that are set by DocuBuilder.

1. Name and email address of the sender
B. Email address of the recipient
C. Send document as PDF attachment / MS Word attachment / email text
D. Subject of the email
E. Body text email text
F. [Next] (generate the email and send it)

6. Customizing the email attachment in MS Word

Do you want to edit the document in the interim? Make sure to download the DocuBuilder Client software in MS Word.
This makes it possible to make changes in MS Word and send these modified documents.

In a later stage, it is possible to hide certain fields per document profile (sales offers / invoices / etc.).

[Edit master document] opens the generated document in MS Word
[Generate] sends a generated document per email (to the recipient)

7. The result of Lay-out 1 in MS Word

Review Lay-out 1 and make a new choice between Lay-out 2 and Lay-out 3.

8. Edit the MS-Word document and send the revised document with DocuBuilder Client
