Activate DocuBuilder Settings tab (Template Manager) in Word

In Word, a separate tab is available for template managers and administrators of DocuBuilder: DocuBuilder Settings. If the software was installed by an (external) system administrator, you can use the steps below to make this tab visible.

The steps below are necessary only in environments where the person installing the software (an administrator) is someone other than the end user (this is often the case in terminal server or Citrix environments).

Step by Step

  1. Start Word and on the DocuBuilder tab, click the Info button:

  2. Click Settings and then Manage DocuBuilder Settings Add-In:

  3. Choose Activate and click OK:

  4. The message below appears:

  5. Confirm twice with OK, then for Exit and restart Word completely. The DocuBuilder Settings tab is now visible in Word.

If a user has too few rights to set their own settings for activating the DocuBuilder Settings or if these settings are invalid again at the next Windows start, the administrator can modify the registry himself for these users.

This concerns the Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Word\Addins\DocumentConnect.TemplateManager.WordAddIn]

  • "Description"="DocuBuilder Template manager"

  • "FriendlyName"="DocuBuilder Template manager"

  • "LoadBehavior"=dword:00000003

  • "Manifest"="file:///[TARGETDIR]DocumentConnect.TemplateManager.WordAddIn.vsto|vstolocal"
[TARGETDIR] is the folder where DocuBuilder settings are installed. By default, this is:
    - 32 bits Office: C:\Program Files (x86)\Documizers\DocuBuilder template manager 32-bit\
    So: "Manifest"="file:///C:\Program Files (x86)\Documizers\DocuBuilder template manager 32-bit\DocumentConnect.TemplateManager.WordAddIn.vsto|vstolocal"

    - 64 bits Office: C:\Program Files\Documizers\DocuBuilder template manager 64-bit\
    So: "Manifest"="file:///C:\Program Files\Documizers\DocuBuilder template manager 64-bit\DocumentConnect.TemplateManager.WordAddIn.vsto|vstolocal"
